Everyone’s asking Liz and I why we are doing the collaboration together and what inspired our design. So we'd like to share with you why we were inspired to work together. Liz and I were first introduced back in 2015 when I just began my career by a fellow female entrepreneur/hustling do-gooder, Michal Weinstein, who thought we’d be the perfect shidduch (match)! Liz and I hit it off immediately, bonding over kids, our goals in life, and our genuine, fun-loving personalities.
Over the years, we have supported each other through the growth of our careers and have maintained both a professional and personal relationship. We have seen each other through some serious life transitions: divorce, multiple miscarriages amongst the both of us (for Gd's sake we were actually together when Liz Savetsky found out she was pregnant with the first of two losses!) deaths, business challenges, and much more.
When I decided I wanted to try doing my first ever design collaboration with an influencer, I had no doubt in my mind who I wanted to approach. I have always admired Liz’s strength as a mother, Jewish woman, wife, and last but definitely not least, her honesty, and fearlessness in discussing important and taboo topics that need to be addressed. After many different design ideas, edits, samplings, and strategies, we decided to go with our NYC Taxi design as the hustle and bustle, fashion, and culture of New York are deeply rooted in who we are as individuals, plus we live three blocks away from each other on Manhattan’s UES. We are constantly hailing taxis (sometimes maybe Lyft's) to get us from meeting to meeting, school drop off, play dates, girls nights out, and the chaos in between.
We've had such an amazing time, and also some challenges, while designing this collaboration and we can't wait to see you guys with our clutches! On top of this being my first ever design collaboration with an influencer, this is Liz's first ever product collaboration, so lots of exciting things. Gives us a chance to actually hang out because if you know Liz and I we are mostly work and kids!!!
Please tag us in pictures of you wearing the clutch so we can post! @excessoriesexpert @elizabethsuttoncollection
